How Does Astrology Work, Anyway?

The birth chart consists of 10 planets (including the Sun, Moon, and the comet Chiron), 12 Houses, and 12 Signs. All of these components interact with each other in unique ways that define the core personality of the individual. These various components also interact with *others* in ways that define the core aspects of a relationship.

The best way to understand all these components are in terms of "stories." There are stories about competition, there are stories about sabotage, there are stories about triumph, and their are stories of restriction. If our competition stories interact with our stories about restriction, we will handle competition in a slow and deliberate way. If our competition stories are connected to our sabotage stories, we may find ourselves undermined and losing without understanding why. If our competition stories are connected with triumph, then we are more likely to experience traditional, consistent victory.

All of these stories are universal. They are the building blocks, the "grammar," of life. Everybody experiences them. Astrology simply describes the unique patterns of how these stories interact with each other within ourselves.

Partnership astrology shows how our stories connect to other people's stories.

Does our competition story connect to someone else's triumph stories? That could be a great partnership. But what if it connects to their sabotage stories or restriction stories? Partnering with them might make us worse off, or at the very least slow us down.

There are infinite variations to the ways our stories can interact within ourselves and with others. Competition is just one simple example.

Other universal stories include Power, Communication, Trade, Purpose, Values, Love, Limitations, Disruptions, Drive, Religion, Freedom, Spirituality, Suffering, Pain, Empathy, and more. Each of these interact with each other in a complex web that makes up everyone’s rich, unique personality.

How these stories interact internally describes our own personality. How they relate to other people’s personalities describes our relationships.

Our readings will articulate how our internal patterns connect and each others, with others, and with the world.
